Fanciful Cotton Grass

Wildflowers and other vegetation catch my attention as we wander the mountain trails.  My eye is alert and scanning for plants of all varieties and I mentally take note of whether I have seen them before.  The cotton grass is not very large.  Nor is it bright and showy.  It's maybe four inches tall and the fluffy heads might be two inches across at most.  Almost like a real life inspiration for a Dr. Seuss book...wispy and delicate yet strong.
