Dream. Look ahead with anticipation. What were you able to find joy in throughout 2020? I know there was so much to feel discouraged about BUT there was a lot of good. Blessings and joy even in the hard things. That's the key. Be on the look out for what is to be savored.
New artwork is now available with the Ethereal Expressive Collection! These are smaller artworks of landscapes in a more expressive approach. With watercolor pigments flowing from one area into another, blooms in uneven dampness allowed to remain, salt used for a crystalized texture, spatter with both pigment and water, scraping back with palette knife and razor blade...all the fun and playful methods brought together. These are artworks created at a time when I needed a bit more escape from the daily cares. Relaxation and rest found with a brush in hand. You'll still see my love of color and texture but in a free and explorative way. New artwork is still in progress and will be included in collections waiting...
I found these artworks to be a truly enjoyable experience (not always the case), as if I had been transported to the solitude of these rugged places for a little while.
I learned how to make sourdough starter and sourdough bread so that was a favorite comfort food. My family and I worked on puzzles. And I painted quite a bit. With my art studio attached to the back of our home, it's a short trip to go be creative.
I will be spending the next several weeks preparing a large number of artworks for listing on my website. I will try to balance my time between this important goal and painting new artworks...because there's so many new and old inspirations for beautiful watercolor landscapes.
